I’ve been trying for a baby since Christmas. I’ve been using clear blue ovulation tests and have successfully found my peak days and had lots of sex. My last peak day was 9 days ago. I’m always worried symptoms are just in my head but I have quite a few pregnancy symptoms. My tummy feels a bit like butterflies, my left breast/nipple feels funny when I touch it, I’m having hot sweats at night, I feel nauseous throughout the day for like 5 mins at a time, my lower back hurts a little too. Did anyone have these symptoms? I did a test yesterday evening and it’s was negative. Maybe I’m testing too soon? But would I have symptoms and a negative test? My period is due 3rd April. I know it’s obvious to wait a few more weeks but this is my first and I’m too excited and impatient!! :)
Thank you in advance x

With my first I remember walking along the street on a freezing cold January day and having to take my coat off as I was red hot! A few days later I got the positive. We’d had a horrendous time ttc so I didn’t attribute it to anything at the time as was never expecting a positive. Good luck!

Queenofthestonage · 25/03/2025 16:32

Getting up in the night to wee from around the day before my period was due for all 3 of mine which was not normal for me and slightly sore boobs. Fingers crossed for you x

Emmz1510 · 25/03/2025 16:49

I had no symptoms at all early on when I was actually pregnant. Only lack of period.
On the other hand, when I was trying to conceive baby number 2 I imagined I had every symptom under the sun. Not I word of a lie. Tender boobs, tiredness, cramps, discharge, but it turned out to be just me overinterpreting every little health symptom . There were times I was sure despite a negative test that either it was wrong or I must have tested too early /too late (Google hook effect). The brain does funny things. We never did manage to get number 2 but I’ve made peace with that now. Even late period isn’t necessarily a reliable symptom.
In short, a test is the only thing you can trust. If your a was negative then you almost certainly are not pregnant, unless you tested too early in which case try again in a week.

Toddlergirly · 25/03/2025 16:53

No period. The tiredness and sickness started around 8 weeks. The symptoms you describe won’t be pregnancy symptoms, especially as your period isn’t due for another week.

IamMaz · 25/03/2025 17:13

I never had any symptoms. I never had morning sickness and no cravings either.

Sorry to hear that! I know every pregnancy is different. Were you trying for your first or did it just happened? because I think I’m trying too hard and it’s becoming obsessive!

We were trying, and luckily fell first try. I was tracking ovulation so this helped! With the loss, I fell pregnant 3rd cycle.

Good luck!

Heightened sense of smell, feeling a bit claustrophobic in public and more irritable than usual. I've had 5 pregnancies and my most recent it was the sense of smell that tipped me off. I didn't have that symptom with my others until later though so each ones been different. My appetite would increase until I was around 6 weeks with all of them.

Sonny36 · 25/03/2025 19:34

I feel a tiredness like no other time and I know I’m pregnant before testing. Climbing stairs is terrible, I have to drag myself upstairs. I have awful sickness but not until about 6 weeks.

Pam100127 · 25/03/2025 20:06

I hadn’t thought about being pregnant.
I was 42, I had a 3 yr old daughter, after 2 miscarriages.
I was visiting my grandmother and felt intense tiredness, plus a metallic taste in my mouth.
I’d only ever felt that when I was pregnant and I did a test.
He’s now almost 20, 6’5” and an absolute delight.
I’d had a very light period a few weeks before, I now know this was implantation.
You should test next week.
I wish you every success 🤞🏻

For me, around the time I tested, with both DC, I snapped wide awake at about 3:30am for a few nights in a row. Ended up watching films then working the whole day. First time I thought was going mad; second time I knew

Runkle · 25/03/2025 20:52

Sore throat, starving hungry, vivid dreams, very tired.

USaYwHatNow · 25/03/2025 21:28

Breathless on exertion, extreme tiredness and going off certain favourite foods. Funnily enough had exactly the same symptoms with my second but as he was a surprise I didn't recognise that I might be pregnant 🤣 No morning sickness until 7 weeks with my 1st and 6 weeks with my second

Frogs32 · 25/03/2025 21:32

Extreme fatigue like I've never felt before, I couldn't drag myself out of bed in the morning, was late for work every day for a week which I was mortified about but made so much sense in hindsight. Also the worst bloating and did have some mild cramping. Had a positive test on 9dpo. Wishing you all the best x

Abzstar · 25/03/2025 10:22

Sorry I’m new here can you explain DPO? I feel like I’m driving myself crazy analysing everything that hurts lol x

DPO means days post ovulation.

i had a positive pregnancy test 10 days after i ovulated - a week before my period was due!

flumpfish · 25/03/2025 23:44

Just wanted to say I had a bubbly feeling in my lower abdomen with my last pregnancy (3rd), but tested negative on the first day of missed period....4 days later and tested again and it was the brightest positive ever! Glad to say i carried to 42 weeks (wasn't glad at the time to be pregnant in a heatwave!) It will happen 😀

lauram31 · 25/03/2025 23:51

we miscarried month before we caught with our twins , no symptoms whatsoever until I tested randomly 2 days before period was due as just had “ that feeling “ we hadn’t been trying as was still getting over what had happened but partner took me away for the night to a spa hotel to have a break from life and that was our conception night ☺️
morning sickness and nausea kicked in at 5w ( everyone says this is good and positive so went with it ) had the feeling was carrying twins which was confirmed at a early scan and ended up being diagnosed with hyperemesis . Lost one of the twins unfortunately but ended up with our perfect boy x

allfurcoatnoknickers · 25/03/2025 23:51

Food started tasting DISGUSTING. I'd actually had a negative test - probably because it was too early - but got a positive when I tested again because almost everything tasted absolutely rank.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 25/03/2025 23:53

Metallic or watery taste in mouth, although not immediately.

MrsSkylerWhite · 25/03/2025 23:54

Very sore boobs and committing several times each day with first almost immediately. Few symptoms with second until around 10 weeks, then the same.

MrsSkylerWhite · 25/03/2025 23:55

Oh and extreme tiredness with second from around 12-18 weeks (not with first).

Sorry, committing? Do you mean vomiting?

Pinkdreams · 26/03/2025 00:14

Hot flushes and I felt hungover all week

Yes, sorry. Predictive text, presumably.

@MrsSkylerWhite

Bloody tech 😬😁

MaleficentQueen · 26/03/2025 10:39

Unbearable sweating at night.
I was like it FOR WEEKS.
I’d wake up soaked.
