Hi!

I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my second baby and am feeling a little anxious based on my previous postnatal experience.

I was diagnosed with Strep A (in my Vagina… I know sounds strange, but really, I was) this was following an infected episiotomy 😩

The GP told me that during any future labours its suggested I have antibiotics in case this happens again.

My previous labour was only 3.5 hours, so my concern with the second is it will be just as quick (maybe quicker) and there won’t be time for antibiotics.

Has anyone had an experience of having antibiotics during labour? (I know this is typically seen with Strep B) Or maybe not having time with a quick birth?
Also how did the hospital know you needed this?

I will speak to my MW on next appointment to try ease my anxiety, but thought I’d ask you lovely lot first!
thanks a lot! X
