Empty sac at 6 weeks

I went for a scan at my local EPU due to previous miscarriage. I'm pretty sure I'm 6+3 however only an empty sac was seen measuring 16mm.

I've been told to wait 2 weeks for another scan as they said they'd expect to see more at this point.

Does anyone have any experience of a similar situation? It's so hard coping with the uncertainty!

Hi, yes I had a similar situation 3 weeks ago and unfortunately it ended in a missed miscarriage. I went for private scan at what I thought was 7 weeks but I was measuring 5 weeks. Went back 2 weeks later and some change but not enough. I was referred to EPU and after 2 scans 1 week apart was confirmed miscarriage. I hope your situation is different to mine.

It's really early to be having a scan and could go either way.
I was 15 days behind at my first scan and have just given birth to a healthy baby girl but I wasnt sure on dates.

I remember how stressful that 2 weeks was waiting for a follow up! Good luck to you
