Sciatica BEFORE getting pregnant?

I’m 24 and have been trying to conceive for over two years. My DH and I are seeing a fertility specialist, but on top of the stress of TTC, I’m also struggling with my back.
I had severe sciatica in 2021 due to an L4/L5 disc issue and needed surgery for sciatic nerve decompression. Things improved after that, but now, four years later, the sciatica is back on the same side, and I’m really struggling.
I’m so scared about how this will affect pregnancy. I already feel like my body is failing me, and I don’t know how I’d cope if things got worse. Has anyone dealt with sciatica before getting pregnant? Were you able to carry a pregnancy okay? Did it get worse?
I feel so hopeless right now and would really appreciate any advice or reassurance.

I have had sciatica and back problems for many years. I was actually ok through most of my pregnancy. Started to feel a bit of pain around 30 weeks and midwife referred me to hospital physio. I was seen quite quickly and I had 2 appointments at about 33 & 34 weeks which did help a bit. By then I knew I was nearly at the end which helped me put up with it, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
