Decluttering before baby

I'm 35 weeks pregnant with 2nd baby so entering my nesting era.

I have toddler in one of the bedrooms, one bedroom is husband's office and spare bedroom is a heap and a dumping ground. I am not going on maternity leave until 39 weeks.

I want to declutter the spare bedroom and house in general.

I recently found out this baby is a girl. First was a boy yet still struggling to get rid of baby one's baby clothes.

Anyone else planning a big declutter before baby?

I did this before both of my DC. I started maternity leave at 36 weeks though so had more time.

I decluttered, cleaned and painted (where needed) the whole house both times! It was so refreshing to not have to worry about the clutter once my DC's arrived.

My only advise have a plan and stick to it. I found just pottering wasn't effective. But a clear ' I will do this cupboard today' really helped.

We bought a house when I was 34/35 weeks so that was the excuse for a full declutter!
We spent about 3 weeks on a little refurb before moving in and finally have it livable now I'm 39 weeks.
The only room not done is the nursery but I figure I have 6 months to get that ready as baby will be in with us. My nesting days are behind me now so won't be getting much done in the next week or so...... I'm just massive, knackered and desperate for signs of labour now!

Yes, currently nesting. The energy feels welcome initially BUT it loses its novelty quickly when you cannot stop seeing grime on skirting boards etc. so it’s not as enjoyable as it is at the start. I’m having my second and it’s particularly awful with little ones at home already because there are sticky finger prints everywhere. There’s also the guilt of wanting to spend your time with them before a sibling arrives but also wanting to scrub everything with an old toothbrush. 😂
