Baby stopped growing?

I had a private scan two weeks ago which showed baby was measuring bang on average.

Yesterday I had my fundal measurement taken where it showed baby is on the low line, doesn’t appear to have grown and possibly measuring 2 weeks behind. I am aware fundal measurements are guess work.

I’ve a scan coming up to find out if the fundal measurements are accurate. I’m hoping they are not and that baby is healthy and growing fine.

however it’s got me in a stress! anyone been in similar situation where baby has stopped or slowed growing? What happened? What was the cause and did baby have to come out early? I am only 28 weeks.

Any experiences with this welcome 🙏🏼

what did the sonographer say?

Fundal measurements are often way off. Eg I’ve gained a lot of weight this pregnancy so my ‘baby’ is measuring bigger according to fundal. I’m having growth scans for a separate reason and not one has said they’re looking bigger. I bet I won’t have a big baby - like I didn’t last time.

I take all these growth scans and measurements with a pinch of salt - mine were way off!
I was told bang on average all the way through, 4 days before she came I was told to expect a 7lb-7.5lb baby...... she came out under 6lbs and under the 10th centile.

Ugh the stress the fundals cause is ridiculous.
My experience...
I was measuring fine at about 30-34ish weeks both on the last scan and fundal measurement. Next fundal measured 5cm smaller than the one prior. Was sent immediately to get an emergency scan (only a short while after my prior one, perhaps a week? It's been over 8 years so memory isn't the best) but because of that she hadn't grown a huge amount but had grown some. They assumed growth restricted and wanted a c sec in the next two weeks.

I put my foot down and refused because of gut instinct saying she was fine, got second opinions who allowed for 3x weekly monitoring and extra scans in the coming weeks.
Long story short, she was born naturally and spontaneously 3 days before due date weighing 6lbs 3oz which was way more than her estimated under 4lbs scan and measurements.
(6lbs there and around is normal for my babies) and fundal measurement was just because she was all curled up breech way low in my pelvis (which they didn't know in fundal measurements and only found at the scan but didn't consider to the reason of "slow growth")

Hope that helps ease the panic

I ended up having several growth scans while I was pregnant because my bump never got beyond the size it should have been at 30 weeks. Baby was on the smaller size but perfectly healthy.
Measurements can change because the baby moves position. You will almost certainly be fine.

I wouldn’t trust private scans to be honest. I’ve had heard countless inaccuracies from them on forums like this.

I am worried as I had my scan and they said the femurs looked short. So now having extra scans on Tuesday!!!
