It can take several weeks to feel the effects, do you have an appointment booked for follow up bloods?

I have had sickness through the whole pregnancy so struggled to keep the tablets down. 5 weeks later, my levels had dropped further and I was diagnosed with severe anemia. I was given an iron infusion which also takes weeks to work.

I think they maybe checking bloods again at next antenatal 4th April, just wanting to feel better soon I've felt really breathless, drained of all energy struggling to put one foot in front of the other atm also a racing heart

It's awful isn't it. I've felt the same for a large chunk of this pregnancy and never really got it sorted (now 38+5)

I remember being told I'd feel like a new woman with iron tablets - I didn't. But they did give me two ferritin infusions after the next blood test because the tablets weren't bringing it up enough. They made a HUGE difference (not instantly but didn't take weeks for me). Hope you feel a bit better soon x
