My son is 6 now but we got on well with Hipp Organic.

I used Kendamil with both my girls - they loved it.

They are both overpriced and rely heavily on marketing when all infant formula is the same by law. Buy whatever is cheapest in your nearest supermarket. For us, that was cow and gate but if you have an Aldi near you, their own brand is even cheaper.

Baby will drink a tiny amount per feed at first - like 10ml. So be aware that you will end up throwing a lot of milk away as you can't reuse the disposable teats. You'll need enough for around 12 feeds per day to start with (every 2hrs) but as that's a lot to carry, you could pack a couple of packs of 6 in your hospital bag and then get someone to bring more once you are settled into the postnatal ward. We had to unexpectedly give top ups and my DH was just able to go to the shop next to the hospital as and when we needed.

My DC2 was on Kendamil from birth and really thrived on it. DC1 was on Aptamil and we had so many issues that I really did my research for DC2.

I would recommend Kendamil wholeheartedly, it’s gentle on their tummy and doesn’t have the horrible smell that you get from some other formulas.

I tried Aptamil, Kendamil and Hipp Organic. Both Aptamil and Kendamil made my daughter very unwell. She would constantly throw up after every single feed and her poo was very watery and green however, she absolutely loved Hipp Organic - she was on the RTF bottles until she turned 12 months.

we recently made the change from aldi then cow and gate and now on hipp organic. Had constipation issues with aldi, diarrhoea with cow and gate and now ds is thriving on hipp. We thought he had cmpa for weeks but turns out he just wasn’t agreeing with certain milks

We used hipp and loved it, but I agree about getting a brand that’s easily topped up if needed. If a specific one is more accessible, I’d try that first and work through power of elimination if baby doesn’t get on with them.

DS1 and currently DS2 both got on well with Hipp Organic. We did struggle for a couple of weeks to get it recently though, I had a stressful drive around a few shops before I got a box! I order on Amazon now, 4 boxes at a time. I know all milks are generally the same but maybe there’s some about it being organic that agrees with some babies better.

Kendamil made my son very sick, I know some babies that had the same issue with this brand but also others who did well. Really depends on the baby.
We switched to Hipp and had instant improvements!
