Having a c sec on Thursday, baby no 2 .have been full of a cold for last couple weeks- slowly starting to feel better - just still very congested and sinusey.
my mum is staying with our 4yo little girl whilst we go into hospital first thing and the plan was hopefully having my mum and daughter come and visit in the afternoon if everything goes smoothly and to plan. We have been preparing her to meet her baby brother for what feel likes forever (she wanted a sister and was very disappointed at the thought of a brother)
today she is snotty and a little off - (thinking she has a cold) now I’m panicking about what to do
do I let her come to the hospital to meet the baby? Do I try and stay away in the hope she starts to get better quickly (I’m not sure if that’s possible)
do I start talking more now about me coming home from
hospital instead of her coming into hospital

has anyone else had any experience of this
any advice would be great

Snap!!

I'm 38+4, second section booked for Monday. We have a 4 year old DD who has suddenly decided to start coming down with something so we've had a few sleepless nights and are on 4 hourly calpol! I've also been feeling under the weather but hopefully on the mend.

I haven't made any plan for DD to come to the hospital. I've just been prepping her that it could happen at any time basically and that it may be a grandparent picking her up one day from school/that I may not be there one night but I'll be home from the hospital with her baby sister as soon as I can etc etc. I've been keeping her involved with helping sort out babies clothes and nappy caddy, and she's been getting lots of fuss and attention.

Don't think there's a right or wrong, just do what works best for you and your family...... and good luck for Thursday!
