Hello, 18 weeks, first pregnancy and just looking for some advice regarding back pain.
I've had quite bad back pain before, but usually middle - upper back. I work in a warehouse and the constant moving around, lifting heavy items would set me off after while. I got used to that though and the back pain would be on and off, but not half as bad. Now, though, I have pain right down in my lower back. I've been put on light duties at work, so I can't blame it on heavy lifting as I don't do that anymore. I am constantly on my feet and do a lot of walking, but my managers allow me to have micro breaks if I need them and have told me time and again to just take my time and look after myself, so I am super grateful for them. The pain has been worse the past few days and today since I finished work it's been awful.
I only worked 4hrs as I took some holidays, and I don't think I over exerted myself. I've managed just under 13,000 steps in that time at work, and a few flights of stairs, but that's only half of what I'm used to. Although I will admit, I've only just gone back to work a few weeks ago as I was off pretty much most of this year with awful morning sickness, so maybe I'm not used to working so much? I don't know.
Usually if my back aches, ibuprofen or deep heat will help but, as far as I'm aware, that's off limits at the moment. I'm wondering if anyone else had back ache, especially lower back, and what helped? I'll of course speak to my GP or midwife if it gets worse or doesn't go away, just wonder if there's anything I could do in the meantime? Thank you for any help.
