Changing community midwives

I'd like to change my community midwife as she was not so supportive of homebirth when I had my last child 2 years ago. We had to change midwives 2 weeks before DD was born which was quite traumatic. Got homebirth and excellent midwife, so all turned out well.

This time I'd like to go with midwife who delivered last DD. She is happy for this to happen but I've been told by her that I'd have to change doctors. My doctor says that she wouldn't think this would be necessary. Anyone have any ideas? I have contacted manager of midwifery 3 weeks ago but she hasn't got back to me and I think I'm about 12 weeks now and haven't seen a midwife at all yet.

Try the Head of Midwifery at the hospital she is attached too. You/They can;t guarantee you that MW for birth though - but it sounds as though the MW is willing to go the extra mile to be with you.
