5 week old - blocked nose

Hey,

My daughter who is 5 weeks old has a snuffly nose. She is just snorting loads and I can hear there is stuff up there. I have used a saline spray and a snot suckered but nothing is really coming out and her nostrils look clear. She does not have the biggest opening on her nose though.

I just google and apparently babies can't breathe through their mouths at this age. I'm worried about putting her down to sleep - will be be able to breathe if she gets even more congested?

I keep trying to be rational and think that babies must problem solve a blocked nose!?

(She is fine in herself and no temp)

ahhh I hate the sound of the little ones being blocked. Take comfort from the fact it probably sounds worse than it is.

baby will be fine. Keep using the nasal spray when needed and you could try elevating the Moses/bed at one end so baby is sleeping with their head gently elevated. Vicks plug ins and Vicks humidifiers are also a must if you haven’t got those already.
