Cannot stand healthy foods!

I’m 6 weeks pregnant and I cannot stand fruit, veg, anything good for me! I have bad nausea all day and the only thing I can stomach is plain food ie chips, bread, pasta! Can’t even eat sauces or condiments. I love mayo but makes me gag! I also love eggs and cannot stand the thought of them. I feel so bad not being able to eat salad but it’s making me gag at the thought! I normally love salad with every meal.

its worrying me how little healthy things I am eating. I don’t remember anything like this with my first pregnant. I just craved cake towards the end of the pregnancy!

anyone else had this? Feel like I’m piling on the lbs already as im rarely moving about due to feeling so sick and drained. I am taking vitamins like I should be too.

Honestly, I’ve just got through my first trimester with twins and the nausea was so bad, I was basically a slug on the couch and survived on McDonald’s, buttered toast and irn bru.

Sour sweets and things somewhat helped but truly, this is just a period of survival. Eat what stays down, drink as much water as you can stand and take your prenatal vitamins and folic acid if you can and rest when you can!

The risk at this stage isn’t to the baby, they’ll get what they need, you’re at risk for anaemia and other issues from limited nutrition so just keep in touch with your doc if your concerned about that sort of thing.

Good luck and there is light at the end of the tunnel! X

Agree with @LaurenAnneP92 first trimester is survival mode. Have whatever helps you through. I'm 20 weeks and enjoying salad, eggs and salmon again and my body is actually rejecting fatty oily food so your body might adjust once first trimester is out the way. In my first pregnancy I lived on chicken dipper wraps and cream of chicken soup the entire time. It's difficult but try not to feel too bad about what you're eating right now.

This is very very normal in the first trimester. I could only manage salt and vinegar crisps and plain crackers for the first few months.
In my first pregnancy, all I wanted was ice cream.

Make sure you stay hydrated and drink as much as you can.

Hi OP, I posted an almost identical post a couple of days ago!!! I'm 7 weeks today and been struggling in exactly the same way since 5.5 weeks. Everyone on this forum really put my mind at ease as I saw how common it was. I'm eating the blandest of food at the moment but I know it'll change in time.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Take good prenatals and stay hydrated x

Oh OP my sickness was horrific from 7-20 weeks pregnant that I ate what I wanted and when I could. Hopefully your sickness passes and you can start to eat healthier options but at this point you just need to feed yourself!

sending you a hug because I know it really is awful! X

Oh thank you all so much this makes me feel so much better. I’ve been feeling so guilty!!! With my DS I did have sickness but nothing like this! This nausea is next level from the moment I wake up. Even nauseous over drinks too!? I’m forcing myself keep on top of my water. Thanks again💛

I'm 8 weeks + 4 days and have bad food aversions to anything protein rich which is doing my head in. Eggs, beef/lamb mince, tuna, I even gagged at Greek yogurt this morning which is new and has weirdly left an aftertaste of onions in my throat. Reading this thread has really put my mind at ease, because yes, I can somehow stomach crackers, bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, crisps etc etc with ease!

I could only eat Greggs pasties and ginger oat biscuits for the first 8 weeks of my pregnancy.
