Hi everyone, I am currently in my 3rd and final year of my nursing degree due to finish and qualify in September. I found out yesterday that I am pregnant 1-2 weeks meaning I would give birth October/November time. I am not sure what to do money wise as I do want to go back to work in January ideally. Any opinions or advice would really help! thank you

First of all congratulations!

I would say personally going back to work in January after only giving birth in November would have been impossible for me though. My daughter is nearly 1 now but I couldn’t have left her at 6-8 weeks to go to work, I was breastfeeding, I was still on daily injections from a complicated birth, lots of medication & heavily bleeding, plus surviving on about 3 hours of broken sleep each night. Unless you have a lot of support I would really rethink January.

This will be my first baby so I have no clue what to expect really regarding going back to work, recovery etc so yeah I think I will rethink going back and just see how it goes. Thanks so much
