Pregnancy Acne?

Hey - so just wanted to know what people have tried to try and gain some level of control over acne break outs during pregnancy? I suffered horribly from hormonal acne as a teen and ended up having special stuff from the GP. It got better during my 20s, by the time i got to my 30s i had gotten myself into a good skincare routine that was working and only really struggled with breakouts during period week. Since being pregnant its been none stop. Always around my jaw line and underneath and they are in clusters not particularly just one or two so it’s becoming noticeable. Is there anything anyone recommends and has worked?

thanks - C x

Hi,
my last Google search five minutes ago was “causes of pregnancy acne” didn’t know if it was progesterone of hcg.

I have a line of spots along my jawline and below the side of my mouth.

so I have no answers, but I just wanted to message to say I’m right there with you. Xx

@AiRoo oh my god its so frustrating isn’t it! And the thing is I’m reluctant to putting makeup on them incase that makes them worse…. But when I'm going out i feel i need it on even if its just a light base to make my skin an even colour (i suffer from redness on the face and dark circles). I even tried swapping to a colour correcting cream to use on days out instead of foundation but that didn’t really cover them. Covered the redness everywhere else just not the angriness of my spots.

If i find anything that works i will update the thread so you can potentially try it too! We got this 💪🏻 xx

@cgwx @AiRoo did you ladies find a fix for this? Anything to help? I’m right here with you now!

@Mumontherunn only thing i found calmed mine was salicylic acid serum and then just normal moisturiser ontop. Didn’t stop my breakouts (still have them now!) but did target them, made them less fierce and red looking, and just battled the scaring it might leave if it did. Also you don't need buy expensive serum, I got one from a supermarket for £3 that worked just as well as some that were over £10. Hope thats helpful!
