Recurring UTI

I’m 33 weeks pregnant and I’ve had a UTI since November and 5 courses of antibiotics will just not shift it. I have some mild back pain and a history of kidney infections pre-pregnancy.

I have another doctors appointment later today but I’m wondering if anyone else has had this problem with a stubborn UTI in pregnancy and what cleared it up? I’m wondering whether to suggest to the doctors that I have some intravenous antibiotics.

Just know your not alone; I've had constant UTIs over the year, and only one antibiotic helped me, but it's not safe for pregnant women :( and it only worked for about 4 months. I've just given blood and another urine sample for them to check my kidneys, as my bladder just seems to get worse everyday. I find it hard to be happy and enjoy life, when I can't even go outside anymore. I'm uncomfortable 24/7, with a deep painful urge to pee. It gets even worse when the baby decides to lay on my bladder, I worry for when I'm more heavily pregnant. Im sorry for not having a fix, I just didn't want you to feel alone

Thank you for your reply and I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through that too.
Luckily my symptoms are quite mild at the moment but I’m just concerned it could have an effect on my baby if it doesn’t go away.
I hope you can get yours sorted soon too, it’s hard enough being pregnant without this in top!
