Car allowance whilst on mat leave

I have just had my pay schedule from work for whilst I am on maternity leave and it does not include my car allowance. Before I ask why this is I want to check where I stand.

I get a car allowance in lieu of a company car and the allowance does not qualify for the purposes of pension and death in service. Therefore I would assume that this is a benefit. However my contract then goes on to say that if absent for a prolonged period and if the sick pay has expired this maybe suspended.

For my mat pay schedule (I get 6 months enhanced maternity pay) it just lists my basic pay and SMP entitlement for the duration of my maternity leave.
It was confirmed separately that I am still entitled to all my usual company benefits for the duration of my maternity leave (car allowance, private healthcare, shares, bonus etc)

Could it be similar with your place of work? Have you checked your contract? Maternity leave definitely isn't long term sick leave!

Unfortunately my contract doesn't state that it is a benefit but implies that it is not renumeration as it is not considered in my pension contributions or death in services.

I have emailed HR for clarity so hopefully it is the same situation where they have just confirmed the SMP amount and not the additional 🤞

I continued to get my car allowance throughout my maternity leave, even in the 3 months unpaid at the end! It stated in our maternity policy that it would be payable, along with things like childcare vouchers.
