Hey girls, unsure whether to go with Aldi or Lidl nappies. I've heard Aldi are good until size 3 when they start to leak. Is this true? Anybody had any issues with the Lidl ones? Thanks :)

I wouldn't use anything other than Aldi! Bloody love them, I buy size 7 (pants) now for my toddler and still love them. I've used every other brand too. I only ever tried lidls newborn which were good too, but always went back to Aldi. Every baby is different in size/shape so it's finding what works best for them.

Also, my least favourites are pampers and Morrisons! If that's any help haha x

I use a mixture of sainsburys and aldi, happy with both!

I've had so many recommendations from friends and family for the aldis ones so they're the ones I've stocked up on.

Ime Aldi are good until size 3, I haven't used them for 5 years though so that could have changed. Lidl were good for every size, no leaking, but I found them to be really wet to touch when I was changing DD like they weren't absorbing it very well. The best we found were rascals from Tesco or Morrisons own.

Why don't you try them both yourself and find out which best suit the shape of your own baby's bum?

TooFancyNancy · 10/03/2025 19:59

Both are good in my experience, but as they get older it depends which fits your babies shape better if that makes sense. Aldi we’re always better for us, Lidl at around size 3 upwards were still better than other supermarkets but did occasionally leak around the leg holes (long skinny ds!)

steelingmyself · 10/03/2025 20:07

Agree it totally depends on the sort of baby you get!

We've got a very chunky one and have got on well with Aldi ones - Tesco and Morrisons were rubbish for us.

The Aldi ones have been great, my little one is in size 4 now but we've used them ever since the teeny size 1s!

I will get some in both, but my nearest store is Aldi so I was kinda wondering if it's true that people say they leak after size 3, as that's be the easiest diaper for me to get :)

Don't stick up on many of any particular brand. Babies are all different shapes and sizes, and have different reactions/intolerances to different nappies. You don't want to be stuck with a load of nappies that leak round your baby's skinny legs, or cause them nappy rash.

Throwingitallaway24 · 11/03/2025 08:45

My daughter is in size 5 aldi nappies now and we've used them since she was born. We've only ever had leaks when she's needed to size up her nappies
