i am 3 months pg with dc 2. Before ds was born i was a 6, had no hips, no shape and im 5'3 so sort of carried it off. Put on 2 1/2 stones, showed v early with a bump. By the end of pg my bump was huuuuuuuge. From behind i didnt look pg at all. Lost the weight literally after giving birth ( i know i was v fortunate)

Basically after i got over the birth i was an 8, weighed 1/2 stone more than before (but was a bit underweight before conceiving) and quite happy with my body shape as i finally had curves!

So cut a long story short i feel huge already. I look about 6 months pg and have completely lost my waist and feel fat! I didnt feel like this until 7ish months with ds. I had v neat and low bump with ds but this one is huge and round, like more 'across' my belly if that makes sense?

Basically im worried i will get huge (im very body consious, not vain so please dont judge me!) will i get huge??? How are all of you fairing and is your 2nd pg body and diff to first time?

Firstly, I was a size 12 before my first was born, v at 6!
Anyway, I was MUCH bigger with my second child and had returned to size 12 after my first was born. I'm talking 'grew out of my maternity clothes' bigger! My first was quite a little baby, but my second was bigger. However, I returned to pre-preg size in just 4 weeks after he was born, it took me 4 months first time round.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is, I'm sure you'll return to the size you want.

Happy pregnancy!

sorry mad4 but basically because your stomach muscles stretched last time you will show much quicker then last time I'm afraid. Because you are slim to start off with it will show quicker as well. Whether in the end you end up any bigger than last time I'm not sure, maybe someone else will know.

My bump was bigger (and a different shape) the 2nd time, but overall I wasn't any heavier.

I did lose the weight even more quickly afterwards though (I quite liked the curves after my first pg too)

do you think the sex could make a diff to bump size/shape at all?

I had a SIMILAR EXPERIENCE TO you Mad4 (whoops ...)

I have always been on the skinny side and put on 2 stone with my first preg. I always felt fat even though I knew I really wasnt. It was all baby.

With the exception of half a stone, I lost all the weight very quickly afterwards.

Even now 11 years on (and 2 further babies) I have never lost that extra half a stone to regain that pre baby weight.

TBH, I think I needed that extra few pounds. Made me a bit curvier and a bit more womanly.

I lost the 'baby weight' (hate that term) quicker after DS2 than I did with DS1. But showed a lot earlier with the 2nd, 3rd, and now 4th pregnancies.

But I did find with DS2 that I got huge very quickly (by 12 weeks people were asking when I was due in the way people ask when people are due IYKWIM??!) though the growing slowed down a lot after about 14-15 weeks, and stopped altogether for a period, then I got a lot bigger again int he last few weeks. I was back in my pre-pregnancy size about 3 weeks after I had him (and that was over christmas!!)
