Anxiety and perinatal mental health referral

Popped to the doctor today to chat about my health anxiety, and been referred to the perinatal mental health service. It's all gone a bit haywire recently and I think my hormones are making it worse.

I just wondered what kind of thing to expect? Did you find it helpful? I've been through CBT twice before and haven't found it helpful, but I want to avoid medication if I can.

(Medication can and does work for lots of people, but it didn't do much for me last time I was on it and it took a long time to take myself off it. We're all different.)

Hello
I was referred to the mental health team at my booking appointment as I have struggled with severe OCD in the past. At first I wasn't sure how it was going to help but I've found the additional support so incredible and beneficial. I was offered medication but I don't think I need it (yet?). The best thing has been seeing the same midwife more often. I'm 32 weeks and see her every 2 weeks, and at 34 I move to every week. She helps make every single step easier and I have a care plan meeting to make sure going into hospital is as easy as possible for me. I've been really blown away by the support so just wanted to say, accept it and embrace it, and I hope you find it as positive. X
