Sporadic movement at 19 weeks

I'm worrying because I felt quite a bit of a movement all through last week, but for the last few days, I've felt virtually nothing. Baby seems to be having one long sleep...
Is this normal at this early stage or should I contact my doctor?

It is fairly normal to go through stages of quietness, and awakeness. The baby could have turned around so all movements will be toward your back, which you won't feel as much.

However if you are worried, always get it checked out.

perfectly normal. Until 20-21 weeks I was feeling movement every few days. Now it's every day (tho not all the time)

22.5 now, and I do feel it move daily. I forgot to add though that from 16-19 weeks I convinced myself the baby had died on a regular basis and was generally a paranoid mess much better now though! lol

I have been exactly the same as that as Kat, am 21 + weeks now and still don't feel it that regularly. Feel it most days but each week it goes very quiet for two or three days. The usual tricks didn't work either - cold drinks - lying quietly etc. I have been convinced several times that it was all over. I had stronger kicks at 18 weeks sometimes than I do now - but all seems ok from my 20 week scan.

That's why I bought the fetal doppler. I have only used it a couple of times however as once you start looking for the hb you have to keep on looking till you find it and that can be stressful if you don't locate it for a while. I prefer to wait now until I do feel movement.
