Clear blue digital..... confusion over result

God this is all driving me a bit mental, and I won’t be surprised if you all comment telling me I need to stop lol, but I panicking now when I probably shouldn’t here is a few sums I would just like to clarity on.

First clear blue digital done on the 25/2 said 1-2 wks
2nd clear blue digital done on the 21/2 said 2-3 wks
I then did another one today still saying 2-3 wks

Now my last period was the 24/1 so that would make me 6 wks on Friday, I googled and asked if I’m 5wks 5days which I would make it today what should a clear blue digital say and it said 3+

So now I’m worried that baby is not progressing……. However I also think that I ovulate a week later than a normal female which is and extra week. Which if that’s the case would make me 4wks 5days and that would say 2-3 wks.

I’ve got a scan Friday morning but my head is going mental that the same things as last year will happen!!

Sorry for the long post xx

I never realised at the time, but now I am reading your post the same happened to me with these tests.
I am 17 weeks now, but when I did my clear blue digital it also came up with 2-3 weeks, but based on my last period date I was also around 5 - 5 and 1/2 wks… so I also should have had the 3+ , but tbh I didn’t think much of it, just took the positive as a positive! Similar to you booked an early scan in..which gives you the reassurance.
can totally get why you are worrying, but try not don’t overthink - congratulations on your positive result, wishing you all the best! X

So this happened to me and I totally lost the plot - but I'm now 10weeks. I never did take another clearblue as I was so upset by it!! So I can't tell you when it would have eventually turned to 3+. But what i can say is that the Internet is riddled with stories of how inaccurate they are and how they shouldn't be used for progression... I really hope it works out okay for you x

Also h on e many weeks were you when you had your first scan? And when they scanned you how many weeks did they put you at? Xx

Because how much growing the baby does and menstration dates don't match.

Technically you are pregnant for 2 weeks before you conceive because dates are calculated from your last period, but you can't conceive until 2 weeks after your last period (assuming typical ovulation).

So baby has been growing for 2-3 weeks but you are 5 weeks pregnant.

It is literally impossible to be 1-2 weeks pregnant because you can't (typically) conceive in weeks 1 or 2 because it's before ovulation.

Hope that makes sense...I'm really, really tired.

Thank you so much for your reply, it's just awful isn't it, this is my last go so I'm just praying everything is ok on Friday morning. It's all making my head go mental this time round xx

I was 6 weeks + 5 days on my early scan! I was lucky and managed to get booked in very soon after I did the pregnancy test. But the wait is sooo anxious - I know most places like you coming in from 7 weeks, but I couldn’t help myself! Like you, just wanted to see the little heart beat 🙏🏼 fingers crossed for Friday xx

Sorry missed part of your Q! Based on period I was 6+6 and she put me at 6+5 during scan, so I was pretty much bang on what I thought x

gamerchick · 05/03/2025 22:05

If those tests were a medical diagnostic tool, then medical professionals would be using them. They're not. They're just an expensive con.

Stop testing.

laidir · 05/03/2025 23:13

I have had similar. Clearblue went up to 3+ and then went down to 2-3, then went back up to 3+ so far.

Getting a scan when I should be 7 weeks and Praying everything is ok.

If you don't know exactly when you ovulated, or you dtd quite often, then dates can be wrong I think.

Prayers

Thank you, yeah I don't know when I ovulate, I think I'm a week later so day 21 which would make me behind. My consultant has me booked in for scan tomorrow morning so just going to sit and wait and just pray xx
