Weight loss in third trimester

First time being pregnant and currently 28 weeks, so no idea if this is normal or not.

I weigh less now than I did pre-pregnancy, but I am not in any way trying to lose weight, I am ravenous all the time and eat a lot! I’m quite ashamed to admit I eat quite a bit of junk too. Has anyone else experienced this? My brain just can’t compute it. I did have HG but that’s been settled since early second trimester, although I do still vomit most mornings but it’s just water/bile so wouldn’t have thought it would affect my weight.

I have asked my doctor for a blood test for hyperthyroidism, so hopefully that’ll be investigated.

You could also ask to be tested for gestational diabetes

I had hyperemesis in the first and third trimester. I lost weight in the first trimester, gained it back in the second so I was around the same weight as before at the start of the third trimester but the started to lose weight again. I found that mid afternoon there was a lull in the nausea and that allowed me to add in an extra snack and that stopped the weight loss and I started to gain weight. I restarted my antiemetic too.
