I am 16 weeks tomorrow and have no bump and am starting to get a bit worried and paranoid.

60kg/1.7m [9st 6/5'6"] so not massive to start with - would have thought I would have something by now?

expatinscotland · 11/05/2008 20:14

i had no bump with my first at all till around 20 weeks.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 11/05/2008 20:14

It's not unusual to not have a bump at your stage, especially if it is your first.

Enjoy being bump free while you can

DiscoDizzy · 11/05/2008 20:15

I was about 19 weeks when I got my bump. In fact on the saturday I had no bump on the monday I could fit into no trousers and bump had appeared.

avenanap · 11/05/2008 20:15

Maybe babes growing towards your back so you wouldn't see a bump. I didn't have much until a bit later on as I was titchy. It can be normal for some women, it really does depend on the way which your little one is growing.

finallypregnant · 11/05/2008 20:23

25 weeks before I started to show.

BCLass · 11/05/2008 20:32

Maybe I am normal then.....

Was reading pregnancy magazines and ladies with 15/16 week bumos looked massive!

no - I had a little bit of thickening roudn waist but no bump as such (and was similar to you pre baby).. fwiw - now nearly 12 st at 35 weeks and definitely have a bump - it started to grow (and grow) after about 22 weeks

AitchTwoCiao · 11/05/2008 21:03

a lot of people still didn't know i was preg at 38 weeks, when dd turned up.

PainintheLaw · 11/05/2008 21:04

I had no bump until prob about 20 weeks, a little little one. Even when I gave birth I was hardly showing. I certainly did not look very pg, its just the way DD was being carried, and how my body responded to being pg, ie no water retention, no weight gain apart from bump in front, and small at that.

AitchTwoCiao · 11/05/2008 21:04

oh, and yes, the women in the mags are imo ENORMOUS for their gestation. i suppose they need to be, it's a visual medium. if everyone was sitting around looking and feeling completely normal they wouldn't sell their mags.

With my first, I had a bump that I could see at about 19 weeks, visible to ppl who knew at about 25 weeks and 32 weeks before evident to all.

My mw was full of homely theories - I had a tilted womb, very good stomach muscles, baby was hiding round the back ...

orangehead · 11/05/2008 21:07

my theory is the shorter you are the less room for baby so more bump, the taller you are the more room for baby so smaller bump. being 5'6 you are at the taller end im sure everything is fine. congrats btw

used2bthin · 11/05/2008 21:12

I had no bump for ages, I did a first aid course with a colleague who was also pg when I was about 25 weeks and the instructor kept reffering to her being pg but didnt mention me at all! I hated it because I wanted people to know by that point. For a long time I had one of those is she isn't she bumps. Then very suddenly I grew...I am tall to and the midwife said I was carrying DD low and had very strong stomach muscles. Sadly I don't think thats true anymore

oliviaelanasmum · 11/05/2008 21:13
