I'm sure this is nothing to worry about but would be reassured to hear if this has happened to anyone else. I'm 34 weeks pregnant and with my 18 month old dd wanted picked up a lot at the moment, I've noticed the bump is tightening each time so that I am avoiding picking her up as the sensation is uncomfortable (although not painful). Is this normal as it wasn't so pronounced first time around?

My Braxton Hicks got stronger with each pregnancy, to the point that towards the end of my fourth pg I could hardly walk sometimes! But if you are worried then you should call your midwife or the maternity unit just to reassure yourself. Good luck.

I didn't really get to the Braxton Hicks stage (had all my babes early) so can't comment on them but I had proper contractions 4 times during my last pregnancy. I had an irritable womb and everytime I done something silly, lifted DD, walked too fast, had sex, my womb would start to contract and I ended up on the deliverly suite, in false labour. I think you may want to phone the unit and just check
