Baby shower

I told my friends I didn’t want a baby shower when they asked me but was happy to meet up with them for a lunch or a coffee before the baby is here. Now that it’s being arranged they don’t want to know. To me it’s just rude and thoughtless or am I looking into it too much?

What do you mean they don’t want to know? You’ve made arrangements to meet up for coffee right?

They are flakey in general and seems because I didn’t want to have a shower they aren’t interested in meeting. Haven’t replied to my messages about meeting

Are you sure that’s the case? Obviously we are just strangers on a forum. We don’t know the ins and outs of your friendship(s) and you guys communicate generally.

Real friends wouldn’t mind if you didn’t want a shower and would respect your decision either way. hopefully they’re just busy?

With a positive mindset I wondered if they are organising something in secret and so are being flakey because they've organised something else.

Otherwise I agree - seems off

It would be nice to see them before my due date tbh but the likelihood of it happening now seems slim.
