Painful twinge leaning forward?

I’m 18 weeks with my first pregnancy. Just sitting on my sofa which is quite low as is my coffee table. I leant forward to get my water glass which was kind of far away and I got quite a painful twinge in my lower abdomen. It went as soon as I snapped back to sit back again and then I stood up and all fine. Is this round ligament pain? The last few days I THINK I’ve felt some movement but I don’t have a clue to be honest. People keep saying you’ll know as soon as it happens but I’m not convinced. I’ve felt a kind of poking/twinge on both sides the past few days and a very slight rolling sensation every now and again. I feel like that must be something because what else could it be?! Anyway really just wanted to see about this painful twinge I just had. God pregnancy is so confusing…

If it was at the sides or bottom of your belly it's likely to be round ligament. If it's down the middle, it could be where you muscles are parting but for me that's uncomfortable rather than painful. Leaning forward might be trying to use those muscles that are no longer there. Your navel is scar tissue left over from when you were born and that can also hurt as it stretches out.

Early movement isn't normally painful. They need to be a bit bigger before they can really kick the shit out of you.

It sounds like round ligament pain. It can be really sharp sometimes and can take your breath away!

First movements aren't that obvious as they can just feel like tiny flutters or gas bubbles and are easy to miss. Gradually they become stronger and unmistakable.

Early movement feels like wind bubbling around your belly!

Thanks all that’s really helpful. I think it’s round ligament pain as I certainly feel it when I sneeze! Hopefully movements will feel a bit clearer in the next few weeks.
