Hi,
I'm 11 weeks pregnant and one of my filled teeth has started to hurt I think some filling may have fallen out I'm unsure.
I've read online it's dangerous to have cavaties whilst pregnant and I'm now worrying incase it's infected or I need a root canal or something.
I have booked a dentist appointment for Monday afternoon as that was the soonest one I could get.
Reassurance and advice please 🙏🏼

Pregnancy is known to affect your teeth and gums, hence the free dental care while pregnant and for months afterwards.

In both my pregnancies I've suffered dental issues - first time was during covid and I had a tooth removed when 29 weeks.
Current pregnancy I'm experiencing tooth ache again and a mouth full of sores and ulcers.

It is interesting. So in my last pregnancy I got very bad toothache on my root canal/crown tooth at about 11 weeks of pregnancy. I went to the dentist and they xrayed that tooth and it looked fine. Said a minor bit of swelling on my gum around it. Luckily that settled and I didn’t need to do anything else. That same tooth hasn’t had any problems now for 2+ yrs.

So sometimes it can be a bit of swelling with the gum and in between the teeth. Best to get it checked though.
