26 weeks and measuring off the chart

Looking for some reassurance. I was 26 weeks + 3 and went for my midwife appointment. She measured the bump and told me baby was measuring big - over the 100th centile! I’m only 5ft 2, pretty slim and to me and everyone else my bump is tiny.

I have been referred for a gestational diabetes test which I’m so nervous about. She did also say that baby is transverse and it might just be the way I carry. Later on in my first pregnancy I was told my baby was big but was born 6lb 7. Should I take it with a pinch of salt? Worrying I’m going to have a huge baby!

Pinch of salt!

I measured 97th centile on the chart initially, then suddenly bump didn't grow at all for 2 weeks. Baby always growing well on scan, and born on 50th centile.

They said my friends baby was in the 91st. He was under 6lbs when he was born.

i don’t know how they get it so wrong.

Did they not send you for a scan? I had this in both pregnancies (actually couldn't plot it as it was off the page) and it was extra amniotic fluid - baby was normal size.

No they haven’t sent me for a scan. I have been sent for a glucose test. If that comes back negative I think I’m going to push for one.
