Hi,

My lines are pretty dark which I'm hoping is a good sign this time around but I just wondered if you continued to test after the initial positives, at what dpo did your tests stop getting darker?

I know everyone will say step away from the tests but after multiple losses and fading lines being my only indication that something was wrong the last two times, it's hard.

Hi,

My lines were faint throughout my pregnancy... I was testing religiously constantly anxious that my lines were faint and everyone else was getting dye stealers. I'm now 18 weeks.

The human body is a magical yet complicated thing. My friend miscarried at 8 weeks or just before and didn't know it as she continued having dark tests until her 12 week scan where they discovered the baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks.

Tests are not an indication of a viable pregnancy unfortunately so I will echo what you've heard previously.. put the tests down.

Wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy this time round x

DoraBella88 · 28/02/2025 13:53

ive had previous losses so I understand. But this time I got the faintest of positives then shockingly got a positive on a digital. I stopped testing because it just stresses me out. I’m just going with the flow this time and hoping for a positive outcome. Lots of luck x

TheIceBear · 28/02/2025 14:09

Sorry but strong lines don’t mean anything. I had strong lines and had a miscarriage before at 11 weeks. Due to chromosomal abnormalities. There is absolutely no point in continuing to test.

ScMTB · 28/02/2025 14:23

Thanks @DoraBella88 @Lulu89x @TheIceBear.

@Lulu89x I have unfortunately been in the exact same scenario as your friend and it's awful, followed by 2 chemicals. Congratulations on your pregnancy ❤️

I know I can't change anything so I think I just need to try an relax and what will be will be. I'm going to put the tests down as I think they are causing more anxiety.

@DoraBella88 Congratulations and I hope we both get a positive outcome.

@DoraBella88 @TheIceBear did either of ever try progesterone?

TheIceBear · 28/02/2025 14:44

@ScMTB im pregnant at the moment and was on progesterone from the start as this is an ivf pregnancy. I don’t think progesterone would have helped in my miscarriage as it was due to abnormalities. If your gp is willing to prescribe it is worth trying. Wishing you lots of luck with this pregnancy.

ScMTB · 28/02/2025 14:52

@TheIceBear Thank you and Congratulations.

I've just started progesterone at 5 weeks as recommended by the recurrent miscarriage clinic as they couldn't find a reason for previous losses. It's worth a try :)

@ScMTB i called my EPU as soon as i got my positive digital as they told me they would put me on progesterone. They spoke to the specialists and they refused. They won’t even see me 😢 So I requested a blood test through my GP which I had done yesterday so just waiting on results now. Hoping I might be able to get it from them instead 🤞

Yes it’s absolutely heart breaking. Sorry you went through that. I can’t imagine how awful it was for you guys… My friend had that MMC, an ectopic pregnancy then a chemical. That’s what provoked my anxieties in my own pregnancy as I was with her when she went through all of this. I can happily report she now has a wonderful 4 month old 🥰

I hope you can report back with good news soon! x

ScMTB · 28/02/2025 18:53

@DoraBella88 Thats frustrating, definitely mention it to your GP in case it's an option. I think the problem is the NICE guidelines for being able to prescribe it as quite strict.

DoraBella88 · 28/02/2025 18:57

@ScMTB yes it’s the NICE guidelines that have got in the way of them giving them to me. I’ve had 2 confirmed miscarriages but after my last I wasn’t told to keep testing to get a negative test. Then 6 weeks after I got another BFP and went through hell with that then bleed again so I’m sure if was a new pregnancy but they can’t count it because of the lack of negative test. So frustrating they promised me help but now can’t 😢

ScMTB · 28/02/2025 18:58

@Lulu89x Thanks. I'm very happy to hear she got her rainbow baby 🌈 I'm trying to remain optimistic but I'm scared to get my hopes up. If we get past previous milestones then I think we will be able to look forward.

I'll report back soon 🙂 x

@ScMTB just had a small amount of light brown when wiping 😔😢

ScMTB · 01/03/2025 08:34

@DoraBella88 easier said than done but try not to panic, spotting can be totally normally.

Well done lol. Honestly I do think it stresses you out more trying to analyse if it’s darker or not 😂

I’ve had a little bit of spotting again this morning. Just going with the flow hoping for the best xx
