Second pregnancy vs first pregnancy

Has anyone felt completely different to their first pregnancy? My first pregnancy I was very nauseous all day everyday, headaches, strong sense of smell, food aversions and completely went off coffee, basically felt rubbish all the time.
I am now almost 8 weeks and felt sick for a few days last week and have sore boobs but that’s it. I’m starting to feel worried!

My first and second successful pregnancy where very very similar.
My 5th (mmc at 9weeks) the absolute opposite and still had morning sickness and boob ache even after I passed the sac for days
Literally every pregnancy is different, finger crossed for an easy one for you!

@LaTable sorry to hear that you had a mmc. This is what I’m also worried about too due to lack of symptoms and the nausea only lasting a few days, I also feel like my boobs are becoming less sore! However, I have read about people like yourself still having strong symptoms following a mmc

If it helps apart from bleeding and being tired from week 8 -10 I had no symptoms for my two girls!

I've had very different symptoms for my 2 girls than 2 boys ☺️

I'm 36 weeks with my second and this whole pregnancy has been absolute night and day compared to my first in every single way! So much so, I was convinced this one must be a boy but, nope, both girls

Anne8888 · 27/02/2025 22:31

@MrsS11 what symptoms did you get? X

The first trimester of both my successful pregnancy were pretty straightforward, one boy and one girl - my worst symptoms were when I had a MMC.
Try not to worry yourself, I could have easily not known I was pregnant with my first until I was in the later stages of my second trimester!

Mine have been similar in the first trimester all three times. First was a mmc, second my son, this time I have been told it’s a girl.

There were a few differences as well though. With the mmc I still felt pregnant but never reached the stage of sickness only nausea. With my son I had a bit of early dizziness at 5-6 weeks. This time I had headaches in that 5-6 week point instead. The sickness varied when it started/stopped with these two pregnancies but generally a similar length of time.

I also had a much harder first pregnancy! I was so sick and exhausted. I only had a bit of mild car nausea with this pregnancy, and sore boobs. My sore boobs disappeared around 9 weeks this time. All is going well though! I'm 18 weeks now.

I'm 34 weeks with my second girl and it's been a lot harder! I have hormonal epilepsy so had frequent seizures in both but this pregnancy has just been harder on my body in general plus catching everything going! I am 6 years older this time though too at 39 years old x

@LolaJ87 thats reassuring, thank you! Are you having a different gender this time? X

I am! My first was a boy and this one is a girl. One of my friends who already had a girl was convinced her second was a boy because her pregnancy was so different, but it was another girl! So I guess symptoms aren’t much of a reliable indicator 🙂
