Unfortunately it seems you have it. I can't remember the exact thresholds but my 2 hour score was 8.3 and that was enough to get diagnosed.

It's really really rubbish at first but you do get used to it, and it's only for a few weeks

Just remember to get assessed when you hit peri menopause again as it can reoccur as either pre diabetes or full on diabetes.

Can I ask if you had any symptoms? I’m having extra growth scans as my first was born in the 1st percentile. This baby was measuring in the 18th at 24weeks, and today was 44th at 28weeks, so they have accelerated growth. Otherwise I don’t seem to meet the criteria, but have been referred for the GTT on Monday. Also feeling guilty as I’ve got major chocolate and cake cravings this pregnancy! 🙈

Your post drink result indicates GD.
I had it with my second DC and was able to control via diet change. The GDUK website is really helpful and has some decent recipes.

I didn't have any noticeable symptoms at all. I was referred because my mum has type 1 but it was a shock to be diagnosed!

I was maybe a bit tired but obvs just put it down to pregnancy.

Most women don't have symptoms of GDM as the diagnostic cut-off's are much lower than in T2. And symptoms are often what you would have in pregnancy anyway eg tired, going to loo more often.

Where I work, your test results would be a diagnosis of GDM, OP.

In my trust anything over 6 for fasting result and/or over 7.8 for after the drink is considered positive.
