I'd a precipitous labour with my first baby first contraction to delivery was 3 hours - no time for time relief! I asked to be induced again early as I don't want to into spontaneous labour. My midwife says they will break my waters.

Does anyone have experience in how long it is from waters breaking to delivery? Should I expect a much quicker labour and delivery?

My first was 45 mins from first contraction to birth. (15 mins active Labour)
2nd was 4 hours
3rd was 3 hours

So not that predictable for me

Are you already full term with second baby? I don't know how they can promise they can break waters for you. they don't know.

My first was natural lasting 4 hours from the first contraction and half an hour active labour. My second was induced due to other reasons - they couldn't break my waters due to baby's head not being engaged so was induced with the pessary. From first contraction (7.5 hours after pessary) to baby arriving as I was being wheeled down to the delivery ward was 2 hours. From my waters breaking (naturally) and being 4cm to her being here was half an hour.

Also just so you are aware induction is not an easy process. most people take at least a couple of days with some taking 5-6 days. that is something i didn't realise before being induced. Some people even had a several day wait just waiting for their waters to be broken

I was induced with pessaries with the first. I'm 38 weeks now so my midwife is checking my cervix this week. I had 3 D&Cs due to miscarriages before, she said that's likely why I experienced a fast labour. Just not sure what to expect with the breaking of waters
