Morning sickness- when did it hit you?

Currently 6 weeks pregnant with my 2nd.

My first pregnancy i was nauseous before I had even tested at 3.5 weeks and violently sick throughout. This time I feel knackered and a teeny bit nauseous. Maybe being overly optimistic but would it have started by now if I was going to get it? 🤣 when is the latest it started for others? Like I said - probably wishful thinking lol.

The nausea kicked in around week 5 I'm 10 weeks now and it has been pretty awful- weirdly enough I can manage to keep chip shop chips down but nothing else. I think it can start at any time but try not to think about it (difficult I know) but you might subconsciously bring it on Hahahax

I was like this first time round! Infection around 3 months my local chippy asked my husband if they could congratulate him yet as I was in at 4pm most days for the pregnancy special- plain chips with salt! Apparently it is an actual thing they all know about 🤣

That was meant to say 'in fact' ...not infection!!!

Around 5-6 weeks and it just kept progressing until about 11-13 weeks. I was never physically sick though thankfully, just a constant low-level nausea.

pinkwillowtree · 25/02/2025 08:19

Second time wasn't so bad for me either. It was there but I could function. Around week 7-12.

Shynslk · 25/02/2025 08:31

Mine hit at 6 weeks. Died down a bit at about 9-10 weeks, came back awful at 11-12 weeks. Not as bad now, but still there at 15 weeks

rja0702 · 25/02/2025 08:31

Around 6 weeks with my first (girl) lasted until about 18 weeks. Then from about 7/8 weeks with my son and the food aversions lasted until the day he was born Blush I lived on spaghetti on toast for dinner for months, it was awful Hmm

1st pregnancy it started before missed period and lasted until I miscarried at 9 weeks. This pregnancy I had it mild between 5-6weeks and them I was fine for 3 days now it came back mild with a lot of food aversions. Literally don’t want to eat anything. I’m 6w4d so nausea can come back any time.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 25/02/2025 11:18

first pregnancy girl around 5 weeks through to around 13 weeks.
couldn’t stand tea, coffee, alcohol
second and third pregnancies, boys - later, maybe 8 weeks, drank tea, odd quarter glass of wine, different triggers definitely,

PoorLion · 25/02/2025 11:42

Food aversion started 8 weeks, I had afternoon sickness, from 2pm at about 10 weeks.

Superscientist · 25/02/2025 14:39

Pregnancy 1 5 weeks had hyperemesis
Pregnancy 2 5 weeks - hyperemesis again
Pregnancy 3 4 weeks - hyperemesis

Pregnancy 4 7 weeks!

I'm nearly 9 weeks and have been on xonvea for as a precaution for a week as this is my 3rd pregnancy in 9 months and hyperemesis twice in 6 months gave me a right kicking! I hadn't had my period after last loss. I have had nausea for the last two weeks and have had 3 days of vomiting in total. Normally by now I'm chained to the toilet or sofa.

First pregnancy over 7 weeks then lasted till about 16 weeks.

Second pregnancy about 5.5 weeks and it's been on and off the entire pregnancy - I'm still having episodes of sickness now at almost 36 weeks!

Both girls

Am I weird then? Never had any morning sickness with either of my two. Cravings (melon) with my first but nothing with my second.

Beeches24 · 25/02/2025 17:06

Preg 1- week 6- week 22 daily vomiting
Current - just before week 6 - week 23 daily vomiting then a lull then sporadic vomiting on random days still at 31 weeks.

I don't think you're out of the woods yet.

I'd say lucky rather than weird!

My mum had 4 kids and no sickness with any of us.
