Gradually thinking this is not viable

Found out I am pregnant on Wednesday. Have done about 6 tests. I dont have regular periods and can go months without one(PCOS), but i would say my last period was december. Though it was a surprise, i was happy. Had brownish discharge on Friday night. Was the slightest bit wary. This continued all weekend. Every time I wiped there would be brown on tissue. Until Sunday night when it started to have red in and lumps like smallish blood clots. Decided to contact GP and they referred to early pregnancy unit who are doing a scan wednesday. I was hoping it would have been monday so i could see what was going on. I had been told after my son was born that any further pregnancy's may need a stitch in the cervix as I was fully dilated, but my son had to be born via c section. This was 5 years ago. I wondered whether it may be related to this. The bleeding has been the same all yesterday. Every time I went to the toilet and wiped there was blood left on tissue, with sometimes quite a lot on the tissue with clots. It just seems too much now for it to be viable. I have literally very little pain, though and would have thought that if it was a miscarriage i would have pain. I wondered whether anyone else has experienced this and their pregnancy been fine? I know a lot will say "just wait for the scan", but I am feeling quite disappointed now.

@Cel119 So sorry you’re going through this, waiting for answers in early pregnancy can be incredibly tough, especially when there is bleeding involved. The fact that you’re not in significant pain might be a positive sign, but I completely understand why you’re feeling discouraged.

It’s good that your GP referred you to the early pregnancy unit, though I understand the frustration of having to wait for the scan.

I really hope you get some clarity and positive news at your scan. In the meantime, try to rest and take care of yourself. You’re not alone in this, and whatever happens, it’s okay to feel however you feel. Sending you strength 🤍

Hi OP, sorry you are going through this and pleased you don't have to wait too long for a scan (although I know every day feels like 10 years!).

I think it could go either way at this stage - no pain is definitely good but red blood with clots is rarely a good sign. I think you need to really prepare yourself for every eventually.

Good luck

No advice because I'm going through the exact same thing. But my doctor didn't seem that concerned about my blood and websites say SCHs can release red blood and clots without issue.

Unfortunately, I have been heavy bleeding. I have my scan tomorrow but I know already. Would like to know what went wrong if nothing else.

Thanks for words of support from you all. Such a lovely community on mumsnet.

Hmm i am very confused. Been bleeding heavily. Then I went to early pregnancy unit for scan that was booked before. At this scan the ultrasound lady said it looks like a miscarriage, sorry etc. Then said the nurse will see me to talk to me. She put me in the bereavement room. When the nurse finally came she said that the doctor had prescribed progesterone to try to maintain the pregnancy. I said that I had lost a substantial amount of blood and doubted it was possible. They then said that the scan identified retained matter and that I possibly had twin pregnancy and one didn't survive. I am so bloody confused. I will take the progesterone but I can see it not staying up there(has to be taken vaginally) with all the bleeding.

Still confused and upset. But not as much pain and bleeding today thankfully! The pain was quite bad in the night so I didn't get much sleep. I'm just having a relaxing day today. Will have to see what the scan shows in a weeks time.

The waiting and confusion is really shit, as us the news of a potential loss of a multiple, I'm sorry 💐

You can take cyclogest via your bum if it helps

Yes, the nurse said this, but the pharmacist said ideally vaginally.
