Bladder pressure

Hey guys, I'm 14 weeks pregnant now and for the last 2 weeks have had constant bladder pressure. It feels like someone is constantly pushing on my bladder, and peeing does not make the urge go away. Imagine it as if you've been holding your bladder for many many hours and your bursting, that's what I feel all day. Sometimes a change in position can help it a bit feel not so bad, but usually nothing I can do changes it. I understand it's common to have a bad bladder during pregnancy due to baby pushing on it, but I'm not that far yet. Tbh I'm barely showing, just looks like I'm bloated. I'm worried it's just gonna get worse as baby gets bigger

You might have a water infection, very common! Maybe get an appointment with the doc to check. I had one similar time to you with no symptoms except waking up once in the night for a wee...

I've actually been battling UTIs now for about 3 years, in fact, I was on antibiotics for one a few weeks ago that didn't change anything. This feeling is different however, it's not just a constant need to pee, it's a severe I've got to run to the bathroom right now or ima wet my bed. It's the kindve pressure where I'm worried that the act of getting up out of bed, will cause it to just come dribbling out 😂

I had something like this from 16 weeks. It got worse, and worse, and worse over time. Swabs and UTI tests came back negative over and over, but no one ever tried to help me, they just told me pain in pregnancy can be normal. I reported the pain to my community midwife, GP and triage and no one would investigate.

Don't believe it, and don't be fobbed off. I went into labour at 19 weeks where it became very obvious I was retaining urine and my bladder was going up like a literal stretched balloon. I drained almost 2 litres out once my waters went. We suspect it was another problem that actually caused my labour, but this certainly didn't help and would have caused bladder damage if it wasn't discovered.

Call you EPU/triage/midwife/whoever you have to contact and get them to test you for both a water infection and scan your bladder. Don't take no for an answer. If they say no, have it done privately. 99% of the time it's absolutely fine and something very treatable, but I will never not shout it from the roof tops that they need to be thorough.

Good luck OP!
