Early preg scan (IVF) worry

Hi all, my first time on here. Really
not sure If I’ve done this correctly but hope someone will see it! I had an early pregnancy scan today. It’s an IVF cycle, saw the heartbeat 💗 but the doctor said the measurements were over a wk behind and that the pregnancy was unlikely to progress. I have to keep taking my IvF medication and have a further scan in 2 wks. Has anyone had a similar experience and can offer any hope? This is our 6th cycle, we have been trying for around 9’years. I feel totally heartbroken x

I was in a similar situation -I had IVF too (FET) and my HCG blood tests were really low, so I had an early scan and it showed a sac but nothing else and it was measuring a few days behind (I can’t remember exactly how far behind). I was told the same as you and had to wait for two weeks for another scan. As it was IVF I knew the dates were absolutely correct so I was filled with anxiety and dread. The two weeks were horrible but when my next scan finally came, all was well! We could see a heartbeat and baby had caught up a little in terms of dates (still not exactly in line with the IVF dates). I am now 30weeks pregnant and so far, so good.

its impossible not to worry in this scenario, but just try and take it one day at a time. I know every pregnancy is different but there is still hope, so hold onto that to get you through the next two weeks. Plus it’s a very good sign you saw a heart beat!
