I’m 40 weeks tomorrow, I’ve been loosing my mucus plug through the night, woke up this morning and it’s stopped coming away, is this normal? Does it mean that labour is near still and also will they still be able to give me a sweep?

I think that sounds normal.

Mine seemed to come away in one. They can definitely still do a sweep. I lost mine early hours of Friday morning but didn't go into labour until early hours of Monday morning.

Hey @Permcc, we're due date twins! I'm 40 weeks tomorrow as well... and also started to lose my plug last night. I'm really hoping it's the start soon. How are you feeling?

Permcc · 24/02/2025 09:15

im getting like mild cramping atm, how about you?

I'm not really cramping, but do have a bit of an odd feeling, almost as though I'm about to come into my period. I've got a midwife appointment in a few hours, so I'm hoping she might take a look to see if things are moving.

Fingers crossed this things are moving for you!

Yes I also have midwife appointment later today, fingers crossed for you too 😁

You’ll definitely be able to have a sweep still! I didn’t loose my plug until about 2 hours before my baby was born and had a sweep the day before.

Permcc · 24/02/2025 23:24

Unfortunately wasnt able to do the sweep as my cervix is too hight still 😩 so hoping try again Thursday

Good luck @Permcc! But don't give up hope - I delivered my little one 5 hours ago.
