Feeling alone

12 weeks pregnant here. Feeling quite alone with everything. My GP is useless and writes incorrect notes on the NHS app. The hospital I'm planning to have my baby at doesn't allow you to see them until your 18weeks pregnant in terms of anything going wrong they advised you to go to their A&E. I feel like if anything goes wrong I'm alone medically. I feel quite helpless. My husband is doing his best but I feel I have no support. I came down with a bad stomach bug which I know pregnant women suffer with and didn't know if it was due to HG so was a little panicked but didn't have much reassurance from any health care providers. I'm probably suffering a lot with my hormones which doesn't help but I feel I have no one to turn to.

Has the hospital booked your 12 week scan? That definitely shouldn't be delayed. Sickness bugs, while very unpleasant, won't harm your baby - you just need to stay hydrated. My hospital also won't see you on the antenatal ward until there are things they can actually do for the baby if it starts to go wrong. In early pregnancy they send you to A and E as it's about helping the mum rather than the baby.

I find the system very weird in the way it works, and feel it really does isolate pregnant women. We're basically told that our pregnancy doesn't matter if we're under 12 weeks, and the first actual conversation we can have about the baby with a midwife is 10-12 weeks. A woman miscarrying her baby at 8 weeks is told there's nothing that can be done, and to just try again. Even tho she's carried that baby for 2 months, they make it seem such little time. I was shocked when I got pregnant and found out that a normal pregnancy with the NHS you only get 2 scans
