Spray paint and 24 wks pregnant - I am daft

So I am in full on nesting mood and decided to spray paint my mirror. In a garage. Enclosed. I obviously thought about the risks after the fact! Anyone else dealt with spray paint when pregnant?

I am now worried sick about the possibility of having harmed my unborn child. It was only for 10mins or so but no protection whatsoever 😔

Someone with actual stats/proof will be along any second but in the meantime, I'm sure you have done no harm here. I definitely painted stuff when pregnant, had hair highlights etc

It prob wouldn't be a great idea to spray paint in an enclosed space around a newborn but there are layers of biological protection between your brief exposure to spray paint and your baby. Try not to worry

You'll both be fine. Not exactly advisable a thing to do but far from a big deal either.

While also in a nesting mood a few weeks ago I decided to rip out all the sealant in the kitchen and re-seal everything. No mask, no gloves. Only afterward I decided to google if it was safe and was met with "absolutely not". On top of that, baby girl decided not to kick for the rest of the evening and I was so worried I'd harmed her.

6/7 weeks later and happy to say that as far as the tests scans etc, everything is fine!

I get it though. DH isn't beating so doesn't feel these urges I do to get everything done before baby arrives so it's kind of falling on me to get everything done... but I'm googling everything ahead of time now.

I'm sure you'll both be fine, just don't make a habit of it!

Thanks both. What’s worse is that I completely botched the job so it was all for nothing. 😞 @alwaysanticipating I tried looking up stats and proof but there’s not much online and doubt my MW would know either since it’s such a specific issue!

@salemcooper oh dear haha, you sound just like me! Yep, DH is really not getting any of my nesting urges and we’ve been rowing over this issue today… if it were for him the mirror should have stayed as it was but he just doesn’t get it. Im also on DC #2 so fully aware of how much of my freedom I will need to give up in a few months’ time and hence the mad rush!
