I ovulated from 1st to the 5th of feb,

Had unprotected sex on the 4th of feb, no pull out method, nothing.

Period was due on the 18th.

Had nothing..

I have tested but it says negative, google says to test 21 days after sex which would be the 25th of Feb, so the question is does me missing my period by 2 days but have negative tests mean anything? or do I wait till the 25th and test? I do actually have kids I just still don't know how it all works.😂😂
Also to add I am extremely fertile.😅

Forgot to add my periods are like clock work and I have the Flo app and have used it since it was created basically 10 years ago, it's never been wrong
And I feel like I'm in tune with my body day to day

Have been feeling abit queesy and run down, also noticed a spike in my temp, and felt like I had a cold the last few days

have you done a digital test?
maybe the ones your doing are not as sensitive
and how do you track ovulation?

Silvertulips · 20/02/2025 20:05

The cheaper tests are more sensitive.

More to the point would you be happy if you were pregnant?

marmiteandcheeseoncrumpetspls · 20/02/2025 20:26

Why didn't you use the MAP?

sankacoolrunnings · 20/02/2025 21:10

I was told by the GP I wasn't pregnant with number 2. Clear blue said I was. GP adamant I wasn't. 10 years later I definitely was!

Presumably becsue OP wasn't trying to avoid pregnancy

GPs don't test for pregnancy, the usual method is a home test so if you got a positive n the clear blue what would you be asking the GP?

YoungMacDonald · 20/02/2025 21:23

If you're feeling queasy op but testing negative then it s not pregnancy related queasiness.

Maybe you had an odd month and ovulated a week later than usual so your period would arrive a week later.

Beeches24 · 20/02/2025 22:25

As above said are you actually tracking ovulation or just using an inaccurate app? If the later you really don't know when you ovulated or if you even did.

sankacoolrunnings · 20/02/2025 23:07

@scanni because back then you had to go to the GP to be referred to the midwife and they wanted a positive test 🤷‍♀️

But you had a positive test

StMarie4me · 21/02/2025 10:54

I've had 4 children and never had 1 positive test. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have tracked my ovulation for the last 10 years I know my body I've been pregnant 3 times so I know what pregnancy symptoms feel like

I have done a clear blue digital test it says not pregnant

Your body can change and despite tracking ovulation for 10 years, this month could be different for a few reasons. One of which could be anovulation.

Lots of women can have an anovulatory cycle once or twice in a 12 month cycle - especially from your mid thirties onwards.

If you are still testing negative on a HPT, you are not pregnant or you're testing too early for pregnancy.

In basic terms, most run of the mill HPT will be positive with a 25ml HCG reading. 25ml is equivalent to roughly 12dpo - 16dpo depending on when the fertilised egg implanted (roughly 5dpo - 7dpo).

The only other way to detect early pregnancy is with a blood test but you might struggle to get your GP to test you. There are other ways to get a blood test - you can buy kits online but these cost around £50 and the turn around time is around 5 days.

Unless you were tracking ovulation with tests and definitively ovulated when you say you did, it could be that you did ovulate later. If you did ovulate when you said you did, I would expect to see a positive test by now. Yes, there will be anomalies who never tested positive when pregnant, but for the most part, a positive test is what happens.

As you are still testing negative I’d say that’s pretty concrete there is no pregnancy.
