Severe cramping at 4 weeks

Has anyone else experienced severe on and off cramping at 4 weeks pregnant? Tested positive yesterday and the hospital suspects it may be ectopic but are doing a scan today. I have no bleeding and previously had a suspected molar pregnancy two years ago (no other pregnancies). There have been three instances in the last 24 hours of being in so much pain I was actually writhing around and thought I might vomit. Thank you

@Fishfried thank you 😔 is there usually a period of time between the cramping and the actual bleeding?

Thank you for checking in! Had HCG monitored and it's actually progressing like a healthy pregnancy - doubling every 48 hours. The cramping has basically almost stopped now. I had previous surgery so they think the cramping might be from scarring. I have a scan on Thursday where they should be able to see something if all keeps progressing well.

@fluffyprawn i’ve had quite severe cramping in pregnancies before, where I’ve woken up in a hot sweat & doubled over. And the pregnancy was in the right place. Your most recent update sounds positive - hope all is well on Thursday

@Figtree11 that sounds like mine! Comforting to hear, thank you.
