When does linea nigra disappear?

I have a large dark linea nigra on my belly that has not faded AT ALL after over two months postpartum. When does it fade? Would love to hear your experiences.

Does it only fade after one stops breastfeeding?

I think when DC was about three months I scrubbed it a bit with a flannel in the bath and it came off, although there was a faint line left behind for a while

Oh interesting. I didn’t know it needed to be exfoliated off. Were you breastfeeding still at the time?

Yes I was. I guess it had reached the surface of the skin at last.

With DD2 Mine didn't fade until around 12 months after I stopped breastfeeding, she was 8 months when I stopped. With DD1 it went really quickly

Wow, that’s so interesting! Do you have any idea what could explain that huge difference?

No idea I'm.afraid, I was still able to get a tiny amount of milk until around 18 months after breastfeeding so wondered if that was why

you were able to do that with hand expression? Wild! And that wasn’t the case with your other child?
