Gender disappointment of siblings

Anyone have any experience of this, having an older child desparately wanting a sister but getting a brother for example. How did your older child deal with it or better still how did you?

My sister was born when I was 7.5 and I really wanted her to be a boy, as my friends all seemed to have baby brothers.

As soon as she was born and was (obviously) a boy, I was very glad she was a girl.

ds2 cried when he founbd dc4 was another boy

but you know what? once he met him he fell in love and was fine

This seems to be a bit of an issue with you!
