Why have I received Pre op assessment booklet?

I am 33 weeks pregnant, and midwife referred me to consultant care due to my first baby being born via emergency c section. My 2nd was forceps delivery with 2nd degree tear.

I received my first appointment letter with the consultant for 36 weeks titled follow up antenatal appointment and I believe it is to discuss my birthing plan as I have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes as well this time round albeit it's diet controlled. My baby was normal size at 32-week growth scan weighing 4lbs 6oz. Sonographer said all normal. No concerns about baby being big or anything.

But i have just received pre op assessment booklet in my email. I don't understand why it's been sent?? Do they suspect i will end up having another c section or is it a standard procedure?? No one's discussed anything with me yet.

Can you reply to whichever department sent it to you and ask?

It's been sent via Patients know best so there's no number to contact.

At the end of booklet it's general hospital's website address and phone number.

Maybe they are assuming you will want a section.

If you don’t just say.
