Subchorionic Haematoma Experiences

Hoping someone can help - I was diagnosed with a subchorionic haematoma last week (week 6 of pregnancy) and basically got told to go home and rest. The bleeding stopped for a bit and I thought I was in the clear but has now restarted - quite a bit of brown blood when wiping. Feel a bit downhearted given it's now 6 days since bleeding started. Thought it would be over by now and not feeling very optimistic about my chances. I have a scan booked with EPU tomorrow but hoping people have some stories to share about how things went (both positive and negative welcome).

I had one. Filled a tampon in fifteen minutes around week 5, and thought it was definitely over. Slightly different that after that gush of blood it did stop, but all was totally fine from then on. Best of luck.

I had a huge bleed at 6weeks that lasted a week and then had another bleed at 9 weeks for a week he’s now a healthy 3year old🥰 wishing you all the best

Hi OP,

Had one with this pregnancy - now 37 weeks and everytime I bled in early pregnancy it was so hard not to panic (I’d had a MMC before my first baby).

I actually passed a sizeable clot (didn’t look as too scared but heard it splash in the toilet) and thought I had passed the pregnancy but all was okay :) sorry for the TMI but think it is reassuring to know.

it’s so scary but just remember that they are common, they do eventually go and you have blood in your uterus (alongside baby) so blood is to be expected … I know it’s horrible to see though ❤️

I bled most if my first trimester. For 5-6 weeks for sure. Bled quite heavily red blood and couldn’t go anywhere without a pad.
the baby is fine and I am 18 weeks now. Bleeding stopped around 13-14 weeks.

I had one with my DS. If I remember correctly I was bleeding brown blood for a good few weeks (heavier if I had been on a walk ect). It started pretty much not long after getting my positive. I had a private scan around 9 weeks for reassurance where I am sure they said it had cleared up.

It was so nerve wrecking as I had an ectopic and a MC before that pregnancy but knowing what was causing it helped somewhat however still not nice to see.

Rest up as much as you can. Good luck with your scan and congrats ❤️
