Feel unbearably run down? 22 weeks? what is normal!

So i’m not sure if i’m being dramatic or anything like that. But this is my second pregnancy - so i know i’m bound to be more tired as i have a toddler - but he doesn’t run me ragged and goes to nursery 4 days a week and my mum has him on the other. I do work 33 hours a week in the office, but again i’m sat down at a desk and don’t do anything ‘strenuous’ as you could say.

Bur for the last week i am feeling AWFUL, like soo run down i could actually cry? like cry with tiredness, bad headaches and tension in my head, feeling foggy and like my eyes are full and maybe sometimes a little dizzy. Feeling just really really fatigued more than what feels is ‘normal’? So i’m 22 weeks, but i’m just curious like us this normal? I don’t want to ring the GP / midwife and them say…well your pregnant of course your tired and feel silly. But i don’t know where the line is?? Sorry if this makes no sense but i feel like i don’t know what to do about it!
Have tired early nights - in bed by 7. Taking baths, i’m eating well too.

See your GP. You may need your blood pressure checked. This can be serious so call them. I hope it's not but please take it seriously, they will!

Go and get some blood work done. You need

TSH and thyroid antibodies
B12
D
Iron
Ferritin

its common for all of these to be low in pregnancy and any one of them being low can cause your symptoms

I'm 24 weeks with a toddler and full time job and doing all the nights and wake ups and drop offs and pick ups etc as DHs dad is in hospital so he's busy with that. I also decided to have a couple of sociable weeks to maximise this sweet spot of pregnancy. I'm exhausted but I feel like I'm doing a lot and would be exhausted even if I wasn't pregnant now....But still manageable... just (hanging on by a thread here!).

Might be worth a gp call as it sounds like you're super super run down without necessarily a specific reason. Could be low iron.

Definitely ask for a blood test. I felt very tired by 18/19 weeks and my gp took my blood. I had low iron and ferritin levels. My tsh was higher than normal.

Thanks guys i feel like i’m not being dramatic then maybe, i am going to ring docs today and ask for some bloods done!
I can’t even blame the tiredness on my 2 year old as he sleeps through the night so i can get a full 8/9 hours sleep and still feel like i need to drop to the floor after an hour or so of being awake. Just don’t remember feeling like this with my first!
Thanks for all your help

I had this happen. I kept feeling so tired and faint and I would need to instantly sit and eat or drink something. I was around 6 months pregnant at the time and assumed it was normal so I said nothing. They took routine bloods and it turns out I was iron and b12 deficient. Once I went on treatment for that the dizziness stopped.

Once you get your results back, look at the actual numbers yourself on the NHS app. Many GPs are so busy they miss the small things and blood test results are high on that list. If you arent sure what they mean, post them here, there are lots of people who can help you with them.
