I got a faint positive test this morning. Day 9/10 after ovulation.

Since yesterday I've been getting cramps I would absolutely say are exactly the same cramps I get when I am about to come on my period. I'm not even late for period yet.

I know no one can tell me what's going on, but just looking for any experiences - have you had v early cramps exactly like period cramps and everything turn out ok? or miscarriage?

I'm 37 and DP is 46 and I had early losses even when I was much younger, so I realise there is a possibility this will not stick. I'm so anxious even though I know it's not in my hands.

Yes, I had cramps like my period ones from 14dpo until 7 weeks along on and off (I’m sure I also had a bit of cramp around 9/10dpo too so I just thought my period would arrive shortly). Then at 7.5 weeks I even had an intense pain where I ended up at epu convinced it might be ectopic. It was all fine. The cramps stopped by 8 weeks and I’m now 30 weeks into the pregnancy.

I never had cramps with my son, or with my mmc. So it made me concerned this time but it was fine in the end.

Good luck and I hope it all goes ok.

Yes I had this in both pregnancies

Yes cramps and spotting. I was in the EPU about twice as i was concerned. It was all okay :)

Yes I unfortunately took nurofen once for my ‘period pain’ as it was a surprise pregnancy after infertility. I had cramping and bleeding in the first trimester and had a healthy baby.

I also had very bad cramping and some light spotting with my successful IVF baby.

Aww thanks everyone. I'm so glad everything is going well for you. It's just so strange to have a positive test but feel like I'm about to start my period at any moment.

I usually have cramps around my c section scar as well on the first day of my period (I have two teenagers) and I'm getting that as well.

Yes had cramping all three pregnancies. Always put it down to growing pains- hot water bottle helped me each time… obviously not too hot!

Yes. Had cramping until around 10 weeks then it subsided. Surprise pregnancy after 4 years of infertility!

I'm 38 weeks today ..due to have my little boy next week☺️

Good luck

@laidir I had awful cramps at about 5-7 weeks. Everything fine now (22 weeks tomorrow!) but I called Tommy's advice line to ask a midwife as I hadn't been booked in and she told me to see GP, just to rule out ectopic. Was taking paracetamol about four times a day every day for a week but it didn't let up. Was referred to EPU for a quick scan to check everything was in the right place. EPU said it's likely settling in pains, but that you should always go to GP for any abdominal pain because you don't need bleeding/pain in shoulder for ectopic. Mine were just like constant period pains, but no bleeding...and made worse by standing in heels at a wedding 🙄😬
