Hello, I’m 9 days post partum and my tummy is shrinking etc, but I seem to have a pouch above my scar. Wondering what the likelihood of it being there permanently? I was 9.5 stone prior to pregnancy and gained 4 stone 😲

My youngest is almost 4 and I still have mine, even with eating healthy, working out and using firming creams, can't get rid of it, for some people it's permanent, no matter how hard you try unfortunately.

For others exercising will lessen it a bit.

You're still going to be healing for a long time, allow some months to pass before you worry. I'm a year post partum and I still haven't got proper feeling back on my c-section site and it didn't feel or look fully healed until a few months ago.

After my first my pouch completely disappeared after time, so there is a good chance it will go. I'm 2 weeks post 2nd section and can tell this time round will be more difficult to shift.

Scar and stomach massage when fully healed is meant to be great for the overhang along with the usual exercise etc... there are some good people to follow on Instagram who show how effective this can be and I'll be following once healed.

I've still got my c section flap 3 years later

It is really common. Mine has never gone, but tbf I had to have 2 x cs's.

NewYearNewDietAgain · 14/02/2025 20:57

Mine never went. I had 3 c-sections then a tummy tuck when youngest DC was 9. No amount of weight loss or exercise helped. In fact the more weight I lost, the lower the pouch hung!

Look up scar massage!

Some people get more internal scar tissue than others. My Puch is still there 30 years after my C section.

9 days ??

Mine is still there, my DD will be 11 soon.

Do you really mean 9 days?

Think about how long a cut through every layer of skin and muscle will take to fully heal. After 9 months you'll have a better idea.

Mine pretty much went but comes back first if I gain weight. It's so low down though, only dh will see it. Even reasonable sturdy bikini bottoms flatten it out.

Yes, I do mean 9 days. I’ve also had a myomectomy ( cut in the same place) but no weight gain then and the incision is not straight like it was that operation it’s more of a smile shape. I feel like it’s this smile shape that is making it look like this.
