How far along am I?

Hello,

I am inpatient to say the least but I am trying to accurately work out how far along I could be and it’s a complex one. The first day of my last period was 13th December 24, however this was chemical induced as I was on Slynd contraception, accidentally took the green pill and took the other 3 days to let out the period. I decided at this point not to go back on the pill as it did not agree with me so I endured a period that lasted up to Christmas time.

When the period stopped, I had intercourse on the 26th and 28th December, both of which Flo told me I was ovulating. I then went away for a week with my family and my partner couldn’t make it so the next time intercourse happened wasn’t until around the 5/6th January 25.

i have had some scares so been at the hospital for scans over the last three weeks. last Friday they found a baby and a heartbeat (pic attached).

apps tell me I’m 8 weeks, hospital predict maybe 6ish but genuinely are not sure and I’m wondering if 6 or 7?

How far along am I?

Congratulations! I would go by the hospital scan for now. Flo wouldn't be able to interpret the nuance of coming off a pill and the inevitable effect on your cycle, so you'll have to completely ignore the app.
Coming off the pill means no one could know exactly when you ovulated (unless you tracked?) so that makes it impossible to date realistically. You potentially conceived from intercourse 5/6 Jan and perhaps ovulated just after this. Sperm can live for 5 days so if you ovulated after the intercourse happened, that would put you 6+ some days.

Will the hospital be rescanning you to check for appropriate progress? I hope everything works out how you want it to💐

I would go with the hospital estimation. Looking at your scan it looks a bit behind of what I had at 8 weeks.

Hello, I'd also go by the hospital dating at the moment. Flo likely won't have been accurate with the previous issue in your cycle.

I ovulated 28th December, DTD 26th, 27th and 29Th as my husband was working 28th. I'm now 8+3 and measuring on time, so you'd be further along if you conceived the same day I did. Best of luck!

As pp have said, the actual measurements at your hospital scan will be more accurate than any phone app.

LMP is used as an early guide only but it's based on a very average 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14 and isn't accurate for a lot of women.

You will get your official due date at your 12 week 'dating scan' as this is the most accurate time for measuring baby.

I am 34 weeks now and my due date is 10 days behind what the apps and LMP had me as sure to my cycles and late ovulation.

This scan looks like DC1 first scan. I was 6w+5d with a flickering heartbeat. Congratulations OP! Sorry I have no idea what gestation you could be, I’m pregnant with DC 3 but by about 8ish weeks you’ve got a pretty obvious baby on the scan - so I’d think maybe between 7-8 weeks? When is your dating scan have you had your appointment through? I hope you have no more scares for the rest of your pregnancy!
